Unlike many charities with a developing world focus, we have no staff or offices outside the UK, so we cannot offer volunteering opportunities abroad. However, as the only UK-based charity which funds exclusively for transport for outreach work, we are always glad to receive help with raising funds here in the UK.
We rely on our supporters to advocate for us, and to help us raise both funds and awareness of our work.
For many years, we’ve had a team of volunteer speakers, who give 5-minute talks after Mass in churches up and down the country. We’re grateful for this brilliant work, and long may it continue!
But as of Summer 2026, we’re starting a campaign to get more volunteers on board, and expand the range of what volunteers can do to advocate for us. As a volunteer for SURVIVE-MIVA, there are so many ways you could help us reach people:
- in your workplace
- if you’re a business-owner, via partnering your business with us
- in clubs, societies, prayer groups and leisure interest groups that you belong to
- in your child’s school
- at your university, via student societies you belong to
- in your local community, via helping us organise events
- on social media
We will provide publicity materials, any training you might need, and ongoing support – and we hope volunteers will also support each other. We’re aiming to build a community of advocates across the country who will share ideas and insights, and work together to help us get our message across.
