YOUR SCHOOL & SURVIVE-MIVA

SURVIVE-MIVA is grateful for the support schools have shown us over the years by raising funds for our cause. We hope we can rely on this support in the years to come and we want to help you by providing information and resources. We now have a Powerpoint presentation available that includes photographs (supplied by those who have received a transport grant from us) that really bring SURVIVE-MIVA's work to life. Some of the photographs show the road conditions and difficult terrain many of the beneficiaries of our transport grants have to travel over - click here or on the link on the right to view or download the presentation. By saving the presentation to your computer you will be able to view the notes that accompany the slideshow i.e. the notes are not visible when you simply open the file to view the slides.

If your school would like a visit from a SURVIVE-MIVA speaker then please contact us to find out if there is someone available in your area.

Pupils from Year 3 of
St. Edward's Catholic Primary School in Swadlincote, Derbyshire raised
£834.56 for SURVIVE-MIVA during the Autumn term in 2009

The Year 3 pupils formed a fundraising group, which they named 'Vroom!' and, following an illustrated talk from a SURVIVE-MIVA representative, they set about organising lots of fundraising activities to raise money to buy bicycles for  lay Catechists who visit prisons in Murro Parish, Hoima Diocese, Uganda.

The photographs above show two of the fundraising events the pupils held - a sponsored bike ride and a bring and buy sale.

The magnificent sum of £834.56 will enable
SURVIVE-MIVA to pay for the purchase of 12 bicycles for the Catechists in Murro Parish.

THANK YOU Vroom!
