The year 2007 at a glance

 

During 2007, a total of 173 different modes of transport were provided thanks to donations received throughout the year.  This total is comprised of the following mix:

   -  29 ambulance/community health outreach vehicles;
   -  25
motorbikes/mopeds;
   -  114 bicycles;
   -   1 boat/outboard motor;
   -   3 autorickshaws
   -   1 saloon car.

Distribution by Country
A total of 57 grants were transferred to Diocesan accounts for in-country purchase of the above vehicles in the following countries:

12 to India, 2 to Brazil,  1 to Bolivia, 2 to Peru, 1 to Burundi, 2 to Kenya, 1 to Malawi, 1 to Namibia, 3 to Nigeria, 2 to Uganda, 1 to Zambia and 1 to Zimbabwe.

This amount, however, does not allow for exchange rate fluctuations throughout the year, nor bank charges levied for making the transfers.  Audited figures are published in our Trustees' Annual Report, available on request.
