SURVIVE-MIVA
is a Roman Catholic Lay Association, founded in Liverpool, UK in 1974. We have volunteer
fundraisers* who make lectern appeals at parishes throughout England, Scotland and Wales,
with one fundamental aim: to provide mobility for those who share their lives with the
poor of the non-industrialised world.
As a charity, our funds are converted into grants for all types of transport; this may be
a bicycle, a moped, a trail bike, a 4wd ambulance, a pickup, an outboard motor, - it is
the people on the ground who know what best suits their terrain. We have
beneficiaries all over the developing world, in Central and South America, sub-Saharan
Africa, the Indian subcontinent, and Asia.

*If you live in Wales, Scotland
or England and are interested in becoming a volunteer Speaker making
lectern appeals in Catholic parishes then please
contact us and request an application form.
As a voluntary Speaker youwould make
appeals in churches in your own or nearby dioceses. Speakers decide for
themselves how far they are willing to travel, but use of a car is essential
for a Speaker to be effective. Every aspect of an appeal is coordinated from
the Liverpool office and it is up to the volunteer how many appeals they
feel able to cope with. We are able to pay Speaker's expenses.
